Coinbase Commerce is a payment solution for all types of (online) merchants to conveniently accept and process cryptocurrencies from their customers. Coinbase Commerce is currently in the process of getting integrated into the WordPress plugin WooCommerce.
WooCommerce is a WordPress plugin, which enjoys great popularity with online retailers and is used in 28% of all online shops. Coinbase will now integrate its services into the plugin, allowing a large number of merchants who already use the plugin to access and contribute to cryptocurrencies.
Coinbase states in the official blog post that this move can lead to broader adoption of cryptocurrencies and significantly supports the goal of an open financial system. The plugin WooCommerce can be downloaded here on Gitbub.
Bitcoin and Litecoin are already integrated as features and can be used. The next currencies to be implemented are Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash. In addition, a Coinbase Commerce API for Python is to be developed. Clients for Ruby, PHP, and Node.js should follow soon.
All payments sent through Coinbase Commerce allow customers to send money directly from their wallet to a vendor-supplied cryptocurrency address. Traders do not incur transaction fees to accept the payments.
With Coinbase Commerce, the company is bringing another service that will make a decisive contribution to the adaptation of cryptocurrencies. Millions of people will come into contact with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other digital currencies through this integration, confronting the technology of the future. We are curious what positive effects this step will have on the crypto world.
